
Biography
Mikayla Giovanna is a flutist currently pursuing her Master of Music in Flute Performance at the University of Delaware, where she studies under Eileen Grycky and serves as the Flute and Woodwind Teaching Assistant during the academic year.
She began her flute studies with Inna Leoni, whose guidance laid the foundation for her musical development. Mikayla later earned her Bachelor of Music in Performance with a concentration in flute from The College of New Jersey, studying with David DiGiacobbe. During her undergraduate studies, she also completed a minor in Music Technology and a four-year secondary focus in piccolo.
An active and versatile performer, Mikayla was the 2022 winner of The College of New Jersey Concerto Competition. She performed with the TCNJ Wind Ensemble and Orchestra from 2021–2024 and now plays with the University of Delaware Wind Ensemble. She has extensive experience performing in pit orchestras, including flute, piccolo, and alto flute with TCNJ Musical Theatre, as well as flute and piccolo in Pippin with Creative Outlets Theatre Company at La MaMa Theater in New York City.
